Mary Clare Hunt speaks to business and consumer groups offering insights to both sides of the buyer/seller equation. As a creative sales and marketing executive for over 28 years, she specializes in making intangible concepts clear; in today’s market that means establishing programs that speak to the intersection of social media with sustainable practices.
Her topics include: “Rewiring Your Sales Force” , “How to speak Authentic Green,” “Creating a Blog/Bomb Proof Message” and “Purses, Peers, Posts and the Power to Move Markets.”
What brought her to this point?
During her early 30s, Mary operated Hunt Advertising, a retail-based advertising agency which was the agency-of-record producing print, billboard, radio and TV spot and mall events for The Crossroads, a regional mall in SW Michigan.
After many holiday seasons, she left the retail world for industry and became a top producing media sales rep for Thomas Register of American Manufacturers. As an independent account manager she worked with hundreds of manufacturers transitioning from them from print to online e-collateral sales tools, ads, catalogs, drawings, specifications and e-commerce databases.
Anchoring the activity was the critical use of keywords and phrases. The work demanded knowing how to get products found and then compel buyers to call a client first when the next choice was a click away. Her strategies had to appeal to consumers, purchasers, engineers or project managers – sometimes all at the the same time. Always ahead of the trends, Mary was one of the first to offer webinars as an additional sale’s tool for her clients back in 28.8 dial up days.
In 2006, before marketing-to-women was a retail given, she wrote “In Women We Trust” a workbook that not only flagged how to earn a female consumer’s trust, but also flagged the role social media would play in the future. Now reciprocal currency is the norm and women’s networks are tracked are tracked by Nielsen Buzz Metrics as a word-of-mouth media.
Mary works today to unite the Business to Business world with the Business to Consumer world through sustainable standards and transparent sales. She’s a professional blogger and developer of her signature blog “In Women We Trust” and many others including SustainableProductsBlog (MTS) Turning Transparent (Green Building Pages) and now Ecolutionary Selling.
Currently Mary consults for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) where she works to streamline supply chain communications and capture case studies of the LACCD’s success in creating, teaching and training green jobs for a green economy.
